The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has charged newly inaugurated ex-officio members of the Union's National Executive Council to work for the progress of the Union and Ilorin Emirate at large.
Alhaji Abdulmalik stated this on Saturday February 14, 2026 while welcoming the new ex-officio members after their inauguration.
The President, who is a retired Assistant Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, reminded the new ex-officio members of the tasks ahead of the Union. He said that they were basically appointed to complement the efforts of the elected members.
Alhaji Abdulmalik, who said that the performances of all the 38 ex-officio members would be accessed periodically, urged them to take the privilege with absolute seriousness in order to write their names in gold in the annals of the Union.
Responding on behalf of the ex-officio members, a former Acting Rector of the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna, Alhaji A. A. S. Aliyu, thanked Alhaji Abdulmalik for the opportunity granted him and his colleagues to be part of the Union's National Executive Council.
The meeting was attended by some of the former National Presidents of the Union, including Alhaji Mudi Adebayo Gold, Alhaji Abdulhamid Adi, Alhaji Yahaya O. Ahmed and Dr Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi, who is also a retired Director of the Department of State Services (DSS).
