The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, has commended members of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, (IEDPU) for a very peaceful conference, which culminated in the reelection of Alhaji AbdulMumini Ayo Abdulmalik as its National President.

The Emir made this commendation on Monday while receiving the newly elected executives of the Union and  the Union's leadership across the zones at his ancient palace.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who is the Grand Patron of the Union, praised Alhaji Abdulmalik for his tireless efforts towards  unity and progress.

 He emphasised  that the achievements recorded in the last two years evidently earned him the unanimous support of the entire members of the Union, for a second term unopposed.

The Emir called for continuous love and unity among members of IEDPU and the entire people of the Emirate. He also  expressed delight that the Union is progressing and moving forward.  He prayed to Allah for the success of the new executives and the leadership of the Union, for wisdom and knowledge to pilot the affairs of the Union.

Earlier,Alhaji Abdulmalik said the purpose of the visit was to appreciate the Emir for his prayers and unwavering support which led to the success of the 2025 national conference,whose highlight was the induction of 25 eminent personalities into the Ilorin Emirate Hall of Fame.

The retired Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service thereafter  presented copies of the 2026 calendar of the Union and other conference materials to the Emir and prayed for his continued good health, so he could commission the IEDPU Mosque as he laid its foundation.
