As the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari,CFR, turbans a renowned legal luminary, Prince Aliyu Kolapo Abdulkadir, as the new Daudu Ballah, on Friday, February 13, 2026; the National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has charged  Prince Abdulkadir to display his characteristic humility and erudition in the management of the affairs of the District.

In the statement, Alhaji Abdulmalik also encouraged the new District Head to mobilise available human and material resources to enhance the peace and progress of the District.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Abdulmalik had earlier commended the Emir for choosing such a highly educated and versatile administrator for the position.

The President, who always recall with nostalgia the period he had part of his primary education in Ballah during which time  Mallam Saidu Alao Omooloni ,the then District Head, was his guardian, stated further that Ballah is also the host of a huge investment of the Union and that of the federal government. 

He added that the leadership and presence of the renowned legal luminary on the seat of Daudu Ballah would stimulate further development of that segment of the Emirate.

Alhaji Abdulmalik prayed Allah to grant Prince Abdulkadir a successful and peaceful reign as well as long life in good health with required leadership wisdom  .

Prince Abdulkadir, who holds LL.B. and LL.M, degrees is  68. He is a son of the 10th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Aliyu Baba Agba Abdulkadir. 

The new District Head retired as a topnotch of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA.
