The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has expressed profound sadness on the death of the Executive Director of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM), Ilorin, Dr AbdulGafar Rasheed Kamal.
Dr Kamal, a seasoned Engineer, respected administrator and grandson of the late first Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Shaykh Muhammad Kamaluddeen Al-Adabiy, died in the early hours of today, Wednesday, January 7, 2026 after a brief illness.
In a statement signed by the Union's National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Suleiman Shuaib Dagbo, the Union said that it received the news of the death of Dr Kamal with shock and pain, adding that his demise is a great loss to Ilorin Emirate and the nation at large.
The statement described Dr Kamal as a patriotic and exemplary professional who was determined to leave NCAM far better than he met it.
Alhaji Abdulmalik recalled that Dr Kamal worked with the Union on various developmental issues as Executive Director of NCAM.
The President sympathised with the management and staff of NCAM. He also sympathised with the family of the late first Grand Mufti of Ilorin, as well as with his friends and colleagues.
The Union prayed to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Aljanat Fridaous.
