The Turaki of Ilorin and Senator representing Kwara Central at the National Assembly, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has, again, commended the developmental strive of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU).
Senator Mustapha gave this commendation on Sunday when he received the National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, and his entourage at his residence in Ilorin.
The federal legislator explained that the Union has been playing critical roles in advancing the cause of Ilorin Emirate and its people over the years as he promised to continue to work with the Union towards ensuring the peace and progress of the community.
Senator Mustapha, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Production Services and Rural Development, reiterated his position that he would consult with His Excellency, the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, on what his contributions would be towards takeoff of the Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari Skills Acquisition Centre, Ilorin, which was built by the Union.
On the ongoing construction of the Union's Jumaat Mosque, Senator Mustapha assured the Union that he would also offer very significant contributions towards ensuring its completion.
Speaking earlier, Alhaji Abdulmalik, who sympathised with the Senator on the death of the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Shaykh Muhammad Bashir Saliu, OON, commended the federal legislator for giving the people of Kwara Central Senatorial District quality representation at the National Assembly.
Alhaji Abdulmalik urged the Senator to continue to do his best towards promoting the interests of his constituents as he assured him of the support and prayers of the Union.
The President later presented some copies of the Union's 2026 calendar and other sourvenirs to the Senator to mark the visit.
