Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union  (IEDPU) is the mother of all Unions and Associations in the Ilorin Emirate. It is also the umbrella Union of all indigenes of Ilorin Emirate both at home and abroad. The union has her members and executive members spread all over the five Local Government Areas in the Emirate (Asa, Ilorin East, Ilorin South, Ilorin West and Moro Local Government) Areas and has branches all over the world.

The union was formed in 1941 by a group of people before Ilorin Division was dissolved into five differenct Local Government Areas.

The followings are the summary objectives of the union:-

• ° To foster and promote unity; progress and mutual understanding among the indigenes of Ilorin Emirate;
• ° Promote better understanding with other communities;
• ° Participate in socio-economic development of the community.
