IEDPU Conference holds in Ilorin this weekend

Arrangements have been concluded by the umbrella sociocultural organisation of the people of Ilorin Emirate, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), to hold the 55th edition of its annual National Conference in Ilorin this weekend with the launch of Two Billion (N2bn) Naira funds for the construction of an ICT/Skills Acquisitions Hub with strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols as attendance would be based on invitation.

A statement by the Union's Assistant National Publicity Secretary, Abdulateef Oniyo, said that the programme would be held on Friday, December 25,2020 beginning at 9:00am at the forecourt of the Emir's Palace,Ilorin and under the auspices of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji(Dr)Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, with the Za'ana of Ilorin, Engr. Yusuf Olarenwaju Sagaya and Justice Halima A.Saleeman of the High Court of Justice, Ilorin, jointly presiding.

The statement added that a foremost philanthropist and petroleum Engineer, Alhaji Muhammad Kamilu Dauda, is expected to be the Chief Launcher while the National Missioner and Chief Imam of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Shaykh AbdulRahman Olarewaju Ahmed, is expected to be the Guest Speaker.

The Union also said that the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq will be the Distinguished Guest of Honour while the Presiding Judge of the Ilorin Division of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ahmad Olarewaju Belgore, shall be the Special Guest of Honour.

The statement explained that the working session of the conference is slated for Saturday, December 26,2020 at the Ilorin West Local Government Secretariat, Warrah Road, Ilorin.

The Union enjoined guests and delegates from all over Nigeria and beyond to attend the events with their facemasks and must adhere strictly with other aspects of COVID-19 protocols.
